Tashima (tash-she-mah) is a board certified supervisor and licensed clinicial therapist with over 25 years of mental health experience. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Ms. Thomas (affectionately known as Ms. T) found her love of mental health while attending Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama -one of the nation’s oldest HBCUs.Â
After completing a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) with an emphasis on behavioral health, she obtained a Masters of Social Work (MSW) at California’s San Jose State University.Â
She began practicing in Oakland, CA at a large outpatient, group practice. She returned “home” to work for New York City Department of Psychiatry for ten years. She spent another ten years practicing in Maryland, most notably as the first Oakmont Program Therapist for Sheppard Pratt Health Systems, Maryland’s largest health care provider. Here is where she began supervising and training future therapists.Â
Her desire to build a multi-disciplinary facility led her to create PsychWaze, a mental wellness foundation, in 2015. Adolaize (Ad-doh-lays), its primary program, is a group practice that provides outpatient therapy to all ages and speciality programs for adolescents.
Andrea is a licensed clinical social worker who joined our team in 2020. She received a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from Oakwood University and her Masters of Social Work (MSW). She worked many years for Davita as a social worker and then transitioned to full time behavioral health in 2020.Â
Dolores is a licensed clinical social worker who joined our team in 2019. She attended Oakwood University, a Christian-HBCU where received a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Masters of Social Work (MSW) at Barry University in Florida.Â
Born and raised in Miami, she desired to help children and their families reconcile after receiving foster care services. Her desire to assist families with their stressors prior to disruption and placement led her to pursue a career in mental health. She obtained her clinical license in 2015 and joined our team shortly afterwards. She enjoys working with groups and family to improve communication and build healthier relationships.Â
